Good morning from the Highlands, GEMmers,
Without giving too much away at present, I am working on an interactive story-based historical game for a client which involves the giving and receiving of tokens.
These are likely to be small but chunky (think Walkers shortbread finger – apologies if I have made you reach for the biscuit tin) but in varying widths and lengths with a word on one side and a simple image on the other.
They will be handled many, many times, may be dropped (so need to be robust cleanable) or occasionally nicked as a souvenir. We may require multiple sets of 12 tokens – up to 60 sets, so quite a big commission, which is likely to be repeated as tokens get lost/pinched over time.
The two main options appear to be moulded plastic/resin (but for obvious reasons this is an issue) or laser-printed or hand-engraved on to wood.
I have two small suppliers interested – the local Men’s Shed and a small craft outlet – so it would be more commercial operations who would be useful as a comparative costing.
If anyone has suggestions, for materials or manufacturers, they would be most gratefully received.
