The conference
is taking place on 5–6 November 2019 at Northumbria University, Newcastle and Gateshead. The conference will examine the benefits and challenges of young people’s access to the arts, exploring best practice, partnerships and policies from the sector,
with keynote presentations from Sharna Jackson (Artistic Director of Site Gallery, Sheffield), Dhikshana Turakhia Pering (Young People’s Producer, Brent 2020, London Borough of Culture) and Raden Anandra Natlegawa (Brent Blueprint Collective) who will bring
their unique perspectives on working with young people in the arts.
Additional contributors include artist educator Jack Brown and Rachel Dunlop Peak – Art in the Black Mountains, Wales, alongside presentations from organisations including Kids in Museums, Get it Loud in Libraries, Middlesbrough Institute
of Modern Art, and Templar Arts and Leisure Centre, Tarbert in Argyll, amongst many others.
