Nottingham Trent University is seeking an external examiner for:
BA (Hons) Health and Social Care
We are looking for an external examiner to replace an outgoing examiner from September 2020. The successful candidate will be
expected to attend an induction event in March 2020.
The BA (Hons) Health and Social Care degree course is designed to be the springboard to a professional career in the health and social care services. It draws together theory and practice and is aimed at those who enjoy working
with people, want to work in the 'caring professions' and wish to gain a relevant academic qualification. Key principles of inclusion, development and partnership underpin the content of the course and our philosophy in working with students. The course has
options enabling specialisation in health and well-being, criminal justice, guidance and counselling, and policy and practice - and approximately 300 enrolled students in total.
An academic with suitable experience of working in the sector would be ideal as the course prides itself on its employability focus. One of two externals, the appointee would be expected to moderate a range of modules across all
three levels. Examiners are required to attend one final board each year and to be able to review assessment material on site, prior to the Board, as well as electronically at points throughout the year. Previous external examiner experience would be preferred
but may not be essential. Further information on the role of an external examiner at NTU can be found in the following link:
