Dear colleagues,
Following up on the 8th Writing Analytics Conference in Winterthur (September 2019,
https://writinganalytics.zhaw.ch/) we will offer a half-day
workshop on Writing Analytics at the Learning Analytics and Knowledge Conference 2020 (https://lak20.solaresearch.org/),
which will take place in Frankfurt on March 23-27. Workshops are scheduled for March 23-24.
The aim of this proposed LAK Writing Analytics Workshop is to draw upon the results of previously held meetings, as well as the most recent research,
by bringing together writing tool developers, writing analytics specialists, and writing pedagogy instructors and researchers in order to discuss (1) current practices in their respective fields, (2) opportunities, research questions, and corresponding
designs for collaborative work, and (3) design choices for future tool development and/or writing analytics research agendas that could be informed by current and prospective developments.
The workshop is a further step to bring together writing theory, practice, and digitalization in a wider sense, and to expand and build upon EATAW
2019 conference discussions (https://2019.eataw.eu/). The next
European Writing Analytics Conference will be hosted by Djuddah Leijen and colleagues at the University of Tartu, Estonia in Autumn 2020.
