Please find below a message from Professor Susan Halford, BSA President:
Dear colleagues
I am writing to strongly encourage you to participate in the British Sociological Association commissioned study on the place of race and ethnicity in the Sociology undergraduate curricula in Britain. This
is an important and long overdue study which we hope will have a significant role in shaping future teaching of race and ethnicity.
This research is being conducted by Dr Remi Joseph Salisbury, Dr Stephen Ashe and Professor Claire Alexander (The University of Manchester). The research team have put together a short survey which seeks to
gather your thoughts on the place of race and ethnicity in the Sociology curricula, as well as your experiences of teaching race and ethnicity.
Please note: this survey is open to all colleagues teaching sociology at undergraduate level and not just colleagues teaching modules which focus specifically
on questions of race and ethnicity.
To take the survey please click on this link and fill out the survey before Thursday, 31 October 2019.
Read the full details about the project and, if you have any questions, please do not
hesitate to contact Dr Stephen Ashe.
Many thanks in advance for your support with this project.
Yours sincerely,
Professor Susan Halford
President of the British Sociological Association
Best wishes,
Sophie
