medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

Greetings all,

I am looking over a translation of an annal, which includes the following entries, translated as indicated:

1098 Exordium Cisternensis ordinis 'Beginning of the Cistercian order'

1113 Sanctus Bernardus abbas monasterium intrauit 'St. Bernard the abbot entered a monastery.'

I would like to suggest that the latter entry be changed to 'St. Bernard entered the monastery', or better yet, 'entered the monastic life.' what do you think? Is there a common phrase 'monasterium intravit' that we should know about?
