Environmental Analyst, National Trust, Swindon, UK

Closing date: Saturday 14th September 2019

Put simply, our strategy is to “Look after what we’ve got” and “Restore a healthy and beautiful natural environment.”

We’ve set tough energy reduction targets, are on track to derive 50% of our energy use from renewables by 2020/21 and we’re implementing plans to ensure that our Land is maintained to the highest possible standards.

A new phase of our programme is about to begin, and we need an Expert in Environmental Statistical Analysis to answer key organisational questions relating to the Trust’s current and future Environmental policy, guidance and practice.

What you'll be doing

You’ll be innovative in the use of Data from multiple sources (including Citizen Science projects), and in the methods of Analysis. You’ll be closely linked into the Nature Team’s research, providing Quantitative Statistical Analysis, and you’ll advise on innovative Sampling Methods for Data Collection, ensuring that the Trust is adopting the most cost-effective approaches.

You’ll be part of the Trust's Analyst Community providing expertise, best practice, coaching and support to this group. You’ll ensure that we provide integrated training in Environmental Data handling and analysis, developing training programmes, providing relevant Continual Professional Development and working with Training providers and Ecology Specialists.

You’ll have an “ambassadorial” role, explaining Statistical Concepts and Analyses to non-experts in the National Trust in an easily accessible language.
