Dear all,

As part of the Philosophy, Politics & Aesthetics seminar series at the University of Brighton, the School of Humanities and the Equality and Diversity team are pleased to welcome author, Colin Grant to launch his new book ‘Homecoming: Voices of the Windrush Generation.’ Colin will be joined by our Honorary Doctorate Bert Williams MBE, a local member of the Windrush Generation who provided testimony.

Homecoming draws on over a hundred first-hand interviews, archival recordings and memoirs by those who came to Britain from the West Indies between the late 1940s and the early 1960s. Their stories are of hope and regret, triumphs and challenges and are brimming with humour, anger and wisdom which together reveals a rich tapestry of Caribbean British lives.

Colin Grant’s book launch will be taking place in room M2, Grand Parade in our City Campus on the 10th October between 4.30pm – 6pm. To book your place at the event, please see here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/homecoming-voices-of-the-windrush-generation-book-launch-tickets-74077667297. For details on how to get to our City Campus, please see here: https://www.brighton.ac.uk/about-us/contact-us/maps/brighton-maps/city-campus.aspx.

Please share this invitation with your networks. If you have any additional needs or access requirements, please do let me know.

Best wishes,

Hannah
