Hi Andy, According to Dale Serjeantson (2009) physical castration of cockerels (capons) leads to longer bones as well as longer spurs. A small portion of the capons can also seemingly develop deformed spurs. Kind regards, Erika ____________________ Erika Rosengren PhD student Department of Archaeology and Ancient History Lund University Box 192 SE-221 00 Lund +4673-150 42 66 Från: Analysis of animal remains from archaeological sites <[log in to unmask]> För Andy Clarke Skickat: den 27 augusti 2019 13:29 Till: [log in to unmask] Ämne: [ZOOARCH] Castrated Cockerels Hey everyone, Just a quick question. Would a castrated cockerel still develop a spur?
