Could I ask for some help, perhaps best found west of Offa's Dyke? Jones, Holy Wells of Wales p93 says casually of pins as offerings 'they were widely used in Lhuyd's day', but doesn't give any references. Running through the gazetteer, I find under Flintshire 'FF. FIHANGEL... in Bodfari parish: needles were offered for the cure of warts, sore eyes, etc. - Lhuyd, Par[ochialia] I, 70' but that's about it.

So far as I know, there is no online searchable text of Parochialia. Has anyone been through it in search of pin offerings? So far as I know, it would be the earliest reference to depositing pins in wells.
