Call for Nominations: SSQRG Postgraduate Representative

Space, Sexualities and Queer Research Group (SSQRG), Royal Geographical Society with Institute of British Geographers (RGS-IBG)

The SSQRG promotes scholarship about sexualities and queer geographies in the academe and beyond. The Research Group organises, amongst others, conference sessions, workshops and reading events. It fights forms of sexual and gender prejudice through supporting the production and application of knowledge and pursuing dialogue between academic and non-academic research-user parties.

In pursuit of the above aims, the SSQRG calls for nominations for the role of Postgraduate Representative. The candidate will need to be based in the UK to attend meetings and make a commitment to fulfilling their elected post. The Postgraduate Representative shall be elected for a period of one year and shall not normally be eligible for re-election to the Committee for more than three terms of office.

Potential candidates are requested to email the SSQRG Chair at M.M.Zebracki AT leeds.ac.uk with nominations, including a proposer and seconder, by 28 August 2019 at the latest. It is fine to self-nominate by submitting a short statement of no more than 200 words about why you want to take on the role.

The final decision will be made at the SSQRG Annual General Meeting on 30 August 2019 at the RGS-IBG Annual International Conference, Royal Geographical Society, London http://conference.rgs.org/AC2019/bd429332-552a-4ac4-8d5e-5224327e888e

If you would like to receive more information about standing for the available role, then please contact the undersigned.
