Dear colleagues

Please do spread word of this job working with me at Kew Gardens, managing c. 100,000 specimens at the interface of natural history and world cultures. It's an exciting time for the EBC with plans for new storage and collections database, lots of use for research and outreach, and a wider context of opening up Kew's collections to critical enquiry and interdisciplinary research.

The post will offer lots of opportunity to develop the management and use of the Collection, with active support for training, conference attendance, etc. The breadth of scope of the EBC means that a wide range of subject backgrounds are relevant - not necessarily botany. Experience with research-orientated collections is crucial.

The post is at: https://careers.kew.org/vacancy/collections-manager-economic-botany-397910.html

Closing
date is 25 September 2019, salary range £25,456 to £28,008.

And for anyone who'd like to see what we do, a reminder that Kew's original Museum of Economic Botany is making one of its rare (once a decade!) re-openings for Open House London, 21-22 Sept 2019. Lots of objects and their researchers will be there for you to meet: https://openhouselondon.open-city.org.uk/listings/3331
