An activity for the table at ILI2019 to match the Rock Paper Scissors with microbits from the Conference could be ozobot racing!

See link below for an example - I can design a track and it could be fun...

Also here’s a link to what an ozobot is...

Let me know what you think and I can get that organised.

Also I’m happy to do a flyer for the digital inclusion and agm - will have a go at a draft soon and send over....let me know what details I need to add..

Thanks
Amina

Hi all

Apologies for not getting involved in this discussion.

Been a hectic couple of days - new job and I’m a little overloaded with information.

Moving from public libraries to academic libraries is as expected hard! I’m glad I’ve been a student for a short while recently otherwise I would be more lost!

I assume as treasurer I need to check we have enough funds to cover the cost of the torches - we have a fairly healthy balance and don’t envisage this being a problem but will have a more detailed look this evening and check that it is definitely ok.

Anything else I need to check before I give the go ahead?

Thanks
Amina

Hi,

Looks like branded solar torches come in about £500 for 200.

If that's acceptable I can hunt around for the cheapest option within that bracket?

I’m happy to buy the sweets, sort out the ordering of the flyers and price up/order some more torches.

I contacted the Forest App folks but they don’t have any freebies for us to give away – just a press pack if we want to promote them.

I could sort us some MmIT t-shirts if we think they’d be useful when on the stall?  Probably black t-shirts with a white vinyl logo.

(my husband used to have a printing business and we still have the kit/vinyl available to do this).

Let me know what you think.

MmIT would just have to pay for the cost of the plain t-shirts.

This is pleasing.  We’ll need sweets as well and have to decide on whether we run an activity / competition.

The ARLG / MmIT event organisers and I will come up with a design for the flyer for the December event in advance of ILI.

Committee actions:

  • Can we come up with an activity for our ILI table to match the fun of the microbits at the Cilip conference?

  • Anyone feel creative and wish to create a flyer for our #DigitalInclusion + AGM event in January?  We’ll need this by late September.

  • And we’ll need to decide on our marketing swag for the December / January events.  I’m happy to accept that calculators are old hat and the promotional solar torch is a better idea.  Would someone like to price up the options (for say 200) and make a recommendation?

Subject: Marketing materials - good news

Hi

Good news, I have found a box of MmIT key ring, torches at work - about 50 of them, so I will take them to ILI2019 with me - so we have at least one thing. We could also do with a flyer for the AGM event in January and the ARLG/Joint event for the table.

Best Wishes

Andy
