Associate Professor / Professor of Midwifery

The nursing and midwifery programs at UTS have once again been ranked in the global top-10 in a prestigious ranking of university subjects by the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) Global Ranking of Academic Subjects. UTS is renowned for its midwifery education, research, international reach, and connections to the profession. UTS Midwifery is affiliated with some of the best maternity units in Sydney and NSW. Our dynamic teaching staff collaborate with midwives and doctors in hospital maternity units throughout Sydney and NSW and our research is embedded in our learning and vice versa. The teaching team have a research profile and move between teaching, clinical practice, and research in the Centre for Midwifery, Child and Family Health. All our midwifery academics are active members of the Australian College of Midwives. We are clinically connected and policy engaged.

UTS is now looking to appoint a new Associate Professor / Professor of Midwifery, who will provide academic, research and professional leadership, develop and lead research and engagement activities, and shape teaching. Along with demonstrated academic standing in a field relevant to Midwifery, the successful candidate will bring a commitment to practice-informed research, proven ability to support the development of HDR students and early career academics, and the ability to engage with practitioners. Candidates will need to have strong interpersonal communication skills and passion to operate effectively as a member of a collegial team in a highly dynamic environment, fostering collaborations across the discipline, Faculty, and the whole University, as well as with external partners.
