Librarian Post at North Wales

 

Betsi Cadwaladr University Local Health Board has a high-quality library service, dedicated to supporting the clinical, educational and research needs of all staff. We are looking to recruit a full time, enthusiastic, self-motivated Librarian to join our friendly team at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor.

 

The post holder will be expected to provide professional support to the Library Services Manager, assist with the planning/delivery of information retrieval and critical appraisal skills training, provide an extensive outreach/student service and assist with all aspects of the library management system. Proven literature searching skills and a sound knowledge of electronic systems and databases is therefore essential, as is a thorough working knowledge of current library practice.

An appropriate qualification in librarianship or information science at degree or postgraduate level, or to be working towards such a qualification is essential. We are ideally looking for someone with a background in health librarianship; however willingness and the enthusiasm to learn are equally appealing. Effective communication, planning, organizing and customer care skills, plus the ability to work under pressure work with minimum supervision over long periods of time, including cross site project work are also requirements of this position.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
