Hello everyone:

There are only a few days left before the deadline (23rd August) to submit your papers to the 4th Caribbean International Tourism Conference that is taking place in the beautiful Caribbean island of Barbados from 11-13th December 2019.  While this is a tourism conference, tourism is quite an interdisciplinary subject area and we know that there are sociologists, geographers, cultural studies, gender studies, queer studies, etc  academics who do work in this area and also in the related areas of leisure and mobilities.  So it would be really great if members of this group would consider attending this conference:


Call for Papers - 4th Caribbean International Tourism Conference, Barbados, 11-13th December 2019
The conference theme is ‘Navigating the Destination of the future’  and will provide a forum for critical discourses on the factors, challenges, trends, innovations, policies, opportunities, and practices that are likely to have the most influence on the destinations (including and beyond the Caribbean) of the future. The conference welcomes both conceptual and empirical insights around key areas including (though not limited to):

•  Mobilities and destinations ( second home ownership, immigration, migration)
•  The sharing economy
•  Climate change and sustainability
•  Crisis and Disaster Management
•  Cultural authenticity
•  Visitor experiences management
•  Virtual and augmented reality and destination marketing
•  Safety and security
•  Destination governance
•  The legal environment
•  Entrepreneurship
•  Corporate social responsibility
•  Glocalisation
•  Gender, class, race, ethnicity and tourism
•  Tourism and (dis)ability
•  Technological advancements
•  Tourism niches  and policy implications ( medical tourism, spa and wellness, heritage, gay etc.)

•  Innovations in Destination Management Organizations
•  Destinations and regionalism
•  Human resource management


ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Abstracts should be no more than 300 words in length and should be submitted as a Microsoft Word document. Abstracts should include your name, the name of your organisation and your contact details. KEY DEADLINES

•  Notification of acceptance: 31st August 2019
