FEATURED - Last chance to vote in the ALT Trustee Elections 2019

Voting to elect two new Trustees will close at 12 noon on 20 August 2019. Members who hold Individual (full), Certified or Honorary Life Membership or represent member organisations are eligible to vote. To check who the representative for your organisation is, please go to  https://www.alt.ac.uk/membership/organisational-member-list or contact [log in to unmask] .

ALT Learning Technologist of the Year Awards - Shortlist and Community Choice Voting Open

Established in 2007, the ALT Learning Technologist of the Year Awards celebrate and reward excellent practice and outstanding achievement in the Learning Technology field, and aim to promote intelligent use of Learning Technology.

This year’s Awards are proudly sponsored by Edina and the judges’ choices for Individual, Team and Research project awards will be announced at the Awards ceremony at the Annual Conference on the 04 September. We are also giving everyone the opportunity to vote from the judges shortlisted finalists to select this year’s Community Choice award. Find out who the finalists are and cast your vote.

Annual Conference social programme announced

We are delighted to announce the ALT Annual Conference social programme for 2019. As well as a packed programme of sessions at the Conference, we are also looking forward to offering you an array of social events throughout the Conference week. Pre-conference activities start on Monday 2 September with a free EMBED workshop and informal meet up and are followed by evening events on each day of the Conference. FHEDAWG webinar series continues on 22 August

Join us on Thursday 22 August 2019 for a special guest webinar, the next in our series of webinars with the Further Higher Education Digital Accessibility Working Group (FHEDAWG). This time we are joined by Greg Gay, as he hosts his webinar 'Digital Accessibility as a right'. Greg Gay is IT Accessibility Specialist at Ryerson University and shares this project from the Creative Commons Global Summit. ICDE World Conference on Online Learning

The ICDE World Conference on Online Learning takes place in Dublin at the start of November (3-7). With over 600 paper submissions and delegates already registered from over 50 countries, Dublin is the place to be in November 2019 if you want to help shape the global future of online learning. There is still time to contribute a late paper to this event, including submission of virtual papers, but you will have to be quick! ucisa event on 18 September: Preparing for the new digital accessibility requirements

ucisa is hosting a one-day seminar to brief senior IT staff on their role in responding to the legislation, to discuss the challenges, and to hear about approaches of their peers. This event will include presentations from key stakeholders such as Government Digital Services, Jisc and accessibility experts, as well as from IT managers in the sector who have led on institutional responses.
