No problem, we’ll get in touch with them for you and let you know if they have any ideas. It could actually be something that we’d be interested in potentially, we do have a small collection of police related items. Drop me an email and we can keep in touch if you like?

Cheers,

Emma

Hi Emma

That would be brilliant, thank you so much.

I'm actually looking for a new home for them, once I've figured out what they are, as they don't fit with our collections development policy (we only cover Yorkshire and the Humber). I'm contacting the Durham Museum, but I don't suppose this is the type of thing Beamish would collect?

Many thanks for your help

Leah

Hi Leah,

We could send these through to our contact at the North East Police History Society to have a look at if that would be helpful?

Cheers,

Emma

Hello

Can anyone help with a couple of mystery objects? These wooden paddles have 'Durham City Police' written on them, along with quite a bit of black ink around the edges, which makes me think they might be connected to taking fingerprints. They are 355 mm long, 64 mm wide and 5 mm deep.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Leah
