Hello all,

I hope you are having lovely weeks! I am sharing this for friends at
Something & Son (http://somethingandson.com/) who are working with the
Design Museum in London on a number of local public walks and are looking
for a London based microbiologist for a couple of hours for a walk that
focuses on the micro:

Micro: It’s a big world down there

Saturday 17 August, 14.00 – 15.30

It’s a big world down there:
How rich is the unseen microbial world of the city? What are the barriers
to microscopic life thriving? Does microbial diversity make a safer
environment?

To get a full picture of life in the city we start at the bottom of the
scale. We will take soil samples of different sites to compare readings on
the diversity of urban microbiology. Join us to help collect this data on
the microbiome we live in and find out how it differs from other
environments.

We have a microbiometer <https://microbiometer.com/>for testing
microbiodiversity so we plan to take some samples and actually get some
useful data out of the walk. Because it's an invisible world we really need
some expertise to help bring it to life. We can offer a fee of £50 and will
obviously be crediting you on the Design Museum's website.

If you are interested in helping out please contact Tom -

Many Thanks

Andy
