INVITATION TO TENDER

We would like to appoint an evaluator for a Wellcome (research enrichment) funded public engagement programme about chronic cough. The appointed evaluator will be set up as a University of Manchester supplier.

Our vision for this public engagement programme is to raise the profile of cough as a condition to be taken seriously by researchers, patients, healthcare professionals and the public. We intend to generate multidirectional engagement, bringing together researchers, patients, healthcare professionals and the public to share knowledge and perspectives about:

  *   The experience of cough
  *   The biology of cough
  *   The treatment of cough

All engagement activities will happen in two parallel locations: London and Manchester. The engagement programme will consist of:

  * FOCUS GROUPS - Engagement activities will begin with two focus group workshops (in London and Manchester) bringing together researchers, patients and healthcare professionals to explore expectations and priorities for the engagement programme.
  * CREATIVE ENGAGEMENT WORKSHOPS – Eight creative engagement workshops (four in each location) will be held with researchers, patients and healthcare professionals to exchange perspectives and explore the key engagement aims through a variety of creative methodologies such as creative writing, music and visual art.
  * PUBLIC EVENTS – A series of four public installations, workshops and events exploring the experience, biology and treatment of cough.
  * POP-UP INSTALLATION – A pop-up shop open for eight days in Manchester and eight days in London, creatively transforming empty retail units into imaginative spaces for engaging local communities with the experience, biology and treatment of cough.

Budget

The maximum budget for the evaluation is £20,000 including expenses and any VAT.
