Plus the reason for giving it to children is to prevent. At an older age they have already been exposed to the virus

Hi All, thinking of the 5 steps to risk assessment, wouldn’t PPE be sensible as mentioned below and for the reasons mentioned below? Pip

Hi All

I would agree with the previous comments, won't they be referring PPE?

My thoughts exactly, I know the vaccine is going to be extended to boys but the latest PHE guidance on this (HPV vaccination - information for healthcare practitioners) does not recommend healthcare staff to be vaccinated. The only group of workers it mentions is sex workers which seems sensible as they are high risk of contracting it via sexual contact. What is the rationale? Is it the risk of skin to skin contact, if so wouldn’t gloves be worn so the risk is therefore vastly reduced.

Hi Stella

Am I missing something? I understand HPV is sexually transmitted so why would staff treating patients with this virus need to be vaccinated?

Hi

We have been asked to design a risk assessment for Colorectal team who are potentially exposed to HPV.  They are asking to have a  course of Gardasil vaccination.   Would anyone be willing to share their risk assessment or their thoughts around this team receiving vaccination.

Appreciate your help

Stella
