Good Afternoon Steve - and everyone else,

At Dartmouth Museum four years ago we bought a 55 inch touch screen for a meeting/classroom that we had just acquired.  On that occasion we used a screen without a built in processor because of the numerous uses we expected to use it for and thus it is connected to a desktop machine.  The same screen was - and is - available with a built in processor.  We also put on software that is the same as the local Academy use so that the teachers do not have to struggle with the unfamiliar when they visit.  We are very pleased with it and are likely to go back to the same company for another one for a larger room that has recently been added to this Museum.  We also have a thing called a 'visualiser' connected to it which is very handy for examining archives and books without them being touched.  Please ask off list if that is also of interest.

Though this is personalised, it is a fairly large company in the Wolverhampton area.

Hello all,

I was hoping someone might be able to advise on some companies that provide large format touch screens (probably 32" and above) with built in operating systems and storage for interactive displays. I've been tasked by our Museums Manager to get some pricing levels for both wall mounted and table format screens, and for software solutions too. As is usual, this is very very early thinking and some ballpark figures are needed. Anyone who's had any experience with custom designed stuff or out of the box would both be equally helpful!

Many thanks
