The Fitzpatrick lab, a member of the Zuckerman Institute at Columbia University, seeks to hire an electron microscopist (Staff Scientist) to join a CLEM / cryo-ET / SEM research program dedicated to imaging neurons, glia, and human brain tissue. The successful candidate will play a lead role in instrument support, user training, and methods development. Access to a state-of-the-art suite of electron and light microscopes includes: - Aquilos cryo-FIB/SEM microscope, Leica cryo-correlative fluorescence light microscope, Zeiss LSM800 cryo-confocal with AiryScan detector - Nova Nano SEM, Zeiss SIM/PALM super-resolution light microscope - Titan Krios microscope(s) with Gatan BioQuantum energy filter, K3 Summit direct electron detector, Volta phase plate, NVIDIA RTX 2080Ti GPU cluster Compensation will be competitive based on experience.
