Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Scientist to join the Chailey Clinical Services team.

The postholder will be responsible for the leadership, development and management of a range of complex frontline patient facing clinical engineering services. These include; the highly specialist and innovative rehabilitation engineering service (RES), and the Chailey Communication Aid Service (CCAS). These services consist of healthcare professionals including; clinical scientists, rehabilitation engineers, technicians, and therapists.

Chailey Clinical Services provide multi-disciplinary healthcare and rehabilitation to children and young adults with complex neuro-developmental needs, and following acquired brain injury. Other than RES and CCAS, the services range from in-patient rehabilitation, clinic based assessment and intervention, and clinical interventions for children attending Chailey Heritage School, which is delivered by Chailey Heritage Foundation.

Chailey has recently developed a three year clinical strategy, and the successful applicant would contribute to the delivery of this strategy, ensuring that RES and CCAS staff have the support and resources to meet the needs of the wide variety of service users.

The post-holder will be a key member of the Area Management Team which has overall responsibility for the delivery of effective and facilitative professional, business and operational leadership across Chailey.

The postholder will have a visible leadership role across their services and will need to adopt a compassionate leadership style to enable staff to deliver the right care with the right skills.

The post is being advertised on NHS Jobs, with a closing date of 14th July.
