Dear Colleagues,
Please bring this to the attention of suitable candidates.
Applications are sought for three academic positions at the level of Lecturer to Professor in Analytical/Separation Science and Engineering in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at the University of Manchester. These posts are associated
with the establishment of the industry led initiative – CAMS (Community for Analytical and Measurement Science) of which the University of Manchester is a Tier one academic member. CAMS represents a large consortium of partners in an industrial led activity
mainly from the chemical and biomedical industries and aims to give a central platform to UK and Irish activities in analytical and measurement science. It is anticipated that these strategic appointments will be in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.

Application deadline 20th June 2019
We seek outstanding individuals whose research is driven by analytical challenges. The academic and industrial members of CAMS have prioritised four thematic areas namely: Complex Mixtures Separations and Detection; Data Analytics; Point
of Use Sensors and Photonics; and Novel Instrumentation in which there is an urgent skills gap and need for innovation. We welcome applications from candidates whose research and teaching strengths are in Analytical/Separation Science and Engineering, and
expect at least one of the appointments to contribute to the development of teaching material for a new distance learning course in Analytical Science at MSc level, with an emphasis of data analysis and curation. Areas of particular interest include, separation
science, microfluidics, mass spectrometry, proteomics, metabolomics, instrument development, electrochemistry, solid state NMR spectroscopy, sensors and diagnostics and in all aspects of analytical data science, data mining and chemometrics.
