IDEA 1 Elizabeth Poole is considering Islamophobia in digital environments. Not sure if you've had any correspondence with this Elizabeth but I will include it here in case some new mailing list members are interested. IDEA 2 I will personally be putting a paper forward that will be exploring older South Asian diasporic women's use of tablets and smartphones while watching television. Feel free to get in touch if this might be an area we can develop a panel on. IDEA 3 Maitrayee Basu is interested in examining inclusion from a methodology point of view. She wants to talk about the complexities of researching a media genre that is solidified by significant scholarship and media coverage in the Euro-American context, but is variegated and heterogenous in others. Maitrayee is happy for folks to contact her directly at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>. IDEA 4 Murali Shanmugavalen would like to bring in more discussions around Caste into media and communication studies. I hope I have synthesized these proposals as the individuals intended. Forgive me if I have not but please do clarify in more detail. I understand we have a couple of weeks to get proposals in. Hopefully they will extend the deadline as well.
