Location: Frankfurt, Germany
Full time - 14 Months
Salary and benefits are in accordance with a public service position in Germany (TV-H E13)

Your tasks

  *   Develop workflows and processing services in R or Python for biodiversity and ecosystem variables and indicators
  *   Formalize processing services and workflows, annotation and documentation, warping it up in a container platform e.g. Docker
  *   Review and feasibility analysis of the Copernicus and other relevant EO products
  *   Analysis of the Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS) and its tools to discover, access, and process EO data suitable for the selected indicators
  *   Prepare scientific publications and discussion of the results at national and international conferences
  *   Support the workpackage leaders with management and administration tasks

Your profile

  *   You hold a MSc or PhD degree in Earth Observation and Geo-Information Science, Computer Science, Geography, Environmental Science, or any other related field
  *   You have experience in programming, process and workflow development using open source platforms
  *   You have a broad knowledge in the field of biodiversity and ecosystem research and have an overview on global EO products related to biodiversity and ecosystem monitoring
  *   You have experiences in handling EO products and large spatio-temporal data
