The Travelling Heritage Bureau is a co-research project and supportive network with and for international women artists based in the North West of England (2018 – 2019). The Bureau is a space for women artists including refugees, those seeking asylum and other migrant women with direct experiences of journeying or displacement, or migration heritage. Through arts and curatorial practice, the Bureau explores methods for identifying, documenting, performing, and sharing the cultural heritage and lived experiences of international women artists.

The film is a collaborative process between filmmaker Dr Angelica Cabezas Pino, curator

Dr Jenna C. Ashton, and the participating artists. The film documents the activities of the Travelling Heritage Bureau project and issues of migration, art, archiving and cultural institutions.

Discussion following the film will address the outcomes and findings of the project, revealing the next steps for the artists individually and collectively.

Supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
