We are seeking to hire a post-doc, based at the Oxford Internet Institute, to work with myself, Jean-Paul van Belle and Paul Mungai at Univ. Cape Town, and Mark Graham at OII.

 

The research will be part of Fairwork, evaluating digital labour platforms (Uber, SweepSouth, UberEats, etc.) in South Africa and other locations against decent work standards.

 

The post-doc will be part of a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team of world-leading academics, undertaking ESRC-funded research on a topic that is central to the future of work and to the harnessing of digital technologies for socio-economic development.
