Although far from straightforward in practice, the premise of the CCDS is that interdisciplinarity leads to curricular reform that itself leads to changes in social attitudes. Growing appreciation of disability studies across the fields and disciplines ultimately contributes to the erosion of ableism and disablism in culture and society, from which there grows both space and opportunity for non-normative achievements and aspirations. ________________End of message________________ This Disability-Research Discussion list is managed by the Centre for Disability Studies at the University of Leeds (www.leeds.ac.uk/disability-studies).
