The projects goal is to develop a model-based understanding of neuronal processing differences between expert and novice controllers of safety critical systems (e.g. power grids) that allows human performance prediction. Methodologically, the project combines brain activation measurements in fNIRS and/or MRI during realistic simulations of control tasks with machine learning for data driven human modeling.
