Peter,

Thanks for your feedback. We have already had over 500 participants take the survey, with a significant number of them over 60. We had hoped to have boxes to capture everyone’s experience, but if not just leave a question blank and use the next text box to explain.

I know you are busy, so thank you for your efforts. And I know people find it hard to remember how they were at school, but with a career in Physics it is really useful to have people like you give their experience and thoughts about studying physics, even if a little poorly remembered in places.

With all best wishes
Alison

Dear Alison,

I hope that you are well. Just a bit of feedback on this. Ever willing, I did try to do this but gave up. There were too many questions where I could not select from the list of options and there was no “other” box to tick. For me, also, I left school in 1969….it is not so easy to remember how I felt.

Regards

Peter

Subject: Learning and 'Doing' Physics - please share your experience.

This is a call to share your experience of learning and 'doing physics'. We would value a little of your time to take the research questionnaire below.

The questionnaire (accessed via the link below) collects participants’ self-assessment of ‘doing physics’: thinking approaches and learning characteristics. The overall aim of the research is to identify key features and diversity of experience, to inform future physics education practice and to enable and encourage more school students to continue to study physics.

We encourage you to take this questionnaire and share the link and email with others, so we can survey the widest possible range of people (open to anyone with at least A level (or equivalent) in Physics).

This research is part of a PhD project in the Physics Education Research Group, School of Physics and Astronomy, University of Leeds.

Thank you for your time.
