Has your enquirer looked at Yolande Hodson’s article, “Robert Dawson (1771-1860), Ordnance Surveyor and draughtsman” in The Map Collector, issue 54, 1991, pp 28-30? If not that would be a good place to start.

"I am presently conducting some research on Robert Dawson (Surveyor / Cartographer) (1771–1860), father of Robert Kearsley Dawson. I was hoping one of your team may be aware of any reference material specifically relating to Robert".

Is anyone able to shed any light on Robert Dawson or maybe suggest a useful source of information?
