Might be of interest to some. Please contact the organiser for futher details (not me!).

Dear all,

We are hosting this event on May 22 at Goldsmiths (all details on the attached poster) and it would be great if you could attend the event and also share with local community members and others within your networks that you think will be interested in attending.

I have attached details of the community projects Vasudhaiva Ride has been part of for the past 2 years.

Programme for the event

Main talk (5.00 - 6.00 pm) - Story sharing of Vasudhaiva's major projects from India to the UK highlighting the following themes with tangible examples:

  * Resilience: how vulnerable communities can become resilient communities
  * Tangible steps to genuine grassroots, community-led projects (breaking down colonialist frameworks of aid/development)
  * The importance of stepping out of academia to engage in local issues with a global context

Open Space session (6.00 - 7.00 pm)

Bringing together several diverse initiatives in the region working with at-risk communities / towards social justice, resilience, sustainable living, etc. Facilitating an Open Space session where the representatives of these initiatives act as conversation hosts, and have a chance to share their work and potentially recruit volunteers, as well as cross-pollinate with one another.

We hope to see you there and do spread the word.

Best wishes,

Vicky
