Dear All,
I was on my lunch hour in Durham and I was approached by an energy company provider.

Their spiel was interesting so I listened to it so I could find out if I would indeed save money. I was also interested in how they did their data collection and privacy notice.

We went through the process and reached the point where they wanted to sign me up for the contract. I explained that I would like to see their offer in writing and whether they could send through anything to me as well as how they would record consent.

At that point, they said the following. "Oh, no need to worry about that. I've been recording our conversation since it started."

I was wondering if anyone else had this experience and what their thoughts were on being recorded without being informed.

Best,

Lawrence
