The Mothers of Tiananmen exhibition responds directly to women’s creative resistance and voice. This is framed by the 30th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre. Many mothers lost children during the tragedy, and the families carry on fighting for justice.

Workshops and Talks in July and August.
Throughout July, we will host both hands-on workshops to create art in response to the exhibition, and talks from academics and citizens connected to the event and currently living in the UK.
August will feature responsive workshops led by CIWA artists.
