Dear all,

There is an open position for a postdoctoral associate the area of human dynamics and data analysis at the University of Exeter, UK to work with Prof. Ronaldo Menezes (Data and Network Science) and I, Hugo Barbosa (Lecturer in Human Dynamics and Urban Systems).

The project is in collaboration with Prof. Gourab Ghoshal (Physics and Astronomy, University of Rochester, NY) and Prof. Brooke Foucault Welles (Communication Studies, Northeastern University). The deadline is today. It's too short of notice but if you have recently applied for similar positions elsewhere, we'd like to invite you to apply to this one as well.

The requirement is having a PhD (or being near completion) in a relevant field, including but not limited to Computer Science, Social Sciences, Physics, Mathematics and Engineering.

The project is related to the understanding of the social, spatial and temporal mechanisms underlying human dynamics (mobility, social interactions, routines). See link below for more information.

The ideal candidate would be someone with solid programming and data analysis skills and scientific experience with human mobility data (e.g., twitter, social media, mobile phone traces), complex networks and spatial data analysis.

If you don't have these specific technical skills but feels like your research is relevant to the project, please apply!
