Dear Jenni, On : “or if he should even be responsible for this” A project with international collaboration that we recently supported approached this by developing the DMP in a manner that ensured that everyone has had a chance to give input and by making sure that there is a +/- formal agreement in place that everyone has read and understood the DMP and will follow it. There was a clear statement at the start of the document that clarified that each collaborator would be responsible to adhere what was laid out below. This would mean that there are sections in the DMP that refer to data collected/ dealt with in one region and sections that specify how data collected/ dealt with in another region will be dealt with to ensure the same standards are achieved with the infrastructure (and terminology) available in either region. E.g. here is a Data Management and Sharing Policy of our partner - The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) - a regional intergovernmental learning and knowledge sharing centre serving the eight regional member countries of the Hindu Kush Himalayas — Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and Pakistan: http://rds.icimod.org/Content/files/ICIMOD%20Data%20Policy.pdf and their data portal http://rds.icimod.org/. I'm looking for a bit of advice. I've been contacted by one of our researchers who is putting together a bid with partners from India and Tibet, among others. He has asked what he should do in terms of documenting within a DMP how these partners will manage their data, or if should even be responsible for this. The standards of data management are likely to be different. Just wondering if anyone has any experience of something like this, and able to offer any words of wisdom! Many thanks Jenni ######################################################################## To unsubscribe from the RESEARCH-DATAMAN list, click the following link: https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?SUBED1=RESEARCH-DATAMAN&A=1 ________________________________ To unsubscribe from the RESEARCH-DATAMAN list, click the following link: https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?SUBED1=RESEARCH-DATAMAN&A=1 ######################################################################## To unsubscribe from the RESEARCH-DATAMAN list, click the following link: https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?SUBED1=RESEARCH-DATAMAN&A=1
