When I first became professor of midwifery and the first professor of midwifery there was outrage because the chair of midwifery ( obstetrics) in Glasgow had to change their title.
Midwife is a protected title and you cannot call yourself a midwife unless you are on the register of Midwives.
Just tell him this!
