I love Prittlewell Priory!!

I’d make a listed building designation record and then link it whatever’s relevant in the listed building description.  It looks like (from the description) they’ve listed the “Refectory and Priory building”?

Hehe I don’t think we’ll all be able to agree on this one!

Maybe when I visit Southend at Easter I should come and visit.  J

Subject: Newbie question

Hi all,

Newbie question here – bear with me whilst I try to explain!

We have a priory in our borough that has been entered onto the HBSMR database 4 monuments: 1. Earthworks, 2. Cluniac Priory, 3. Medieval House, 4. Post-Medieval House. It has now been listed so I’ve updated the ‘Post-Medieval House’ entry to be a Listed Building rather than a building or monument record. However, should I do the same for the other 3 monuments as it wasn’t technically listed during its life as a Medieval house or Priory?

Alternatively, should it have just been entered as one monument with all the different buildings listed underneath?

Thanks in advance – I’m trying to clean up the mess from a legacy of bad record-keeping!

Kind regards,
