The Jean Monnet Centre for European Governance at De Montfort University, Leicester, will be hosting a summer school for PhD researchers on the theme of “A New Politics of Populism? Democracy in the 21st Century” from 1st to 4th July 2019. It is open for applications from any current doctoral student.

The summer school is free to attend, with masterclasses led by Prof. Jonathan Davies and Prof. Estella Baker. We are also delighted to be hosting Dr Daniele Albertazzi (Birmingham) and Dr Paolo Gerbaudo (KCL) who will deliver two keynote public lectures during the course of the week on their cutting edge research on the politics of populism in Europe. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to present their work to a panel of experts in the Centre across the four days.
