Dear All, Please see below for a couple of events that may be of interest. Very best, Jack In coordination with colleagues at the universities of Leeds and Sheffield, the history department at the University of Manchester is coordinating a series of visits from scholars from the francophone world to each of our universities. Dominique Rogers, whose work I’m sure you’re familiar with, will be visiting Manchester to give a public lecture and ‘key ideas’ seminar on May 7th and 8th. I’m writing in the hopes that you will be interested in this talk, and perhaps also willing to help promote the visit. Details for the public lecture (from 5-7pm on a Tuesday) is available here: http://events.manchester.ac.uk/event/event:uq0-jr98rsr6-pbp0p9/cidral-public-lecture-dominique-rogers-antilles-between-racialization-and-appropriation-patterns-of-belonging-for-free-people-of-colour-in-saintlucia-martinique-and-french-saintdomingue <https://outlook.manchester.ac.uk/owa/redir.aspx?C=m81TrZndKMnoEYWIozfZ4l4SS8b9TpP5I3fiTKsX9c6n4YedHMrWCA..&URL=http%3a%2f%2fevents.manchester.ac.uk%2fevent%2fevent%3auq0-jr98rsr6-pbp0p9%2fcidral-public-lecture-dominique-rogers-antilles-between-racialization-and-appropriation-patterns-of-belonging-for-free-people-of-colour-in-saintlucia-martinique-and-french-saintdomingue> The ‘key ideas’ seminar is in the process of being finalized, though the goal is to run a small class and discussion that would be of particular interest to postgraduate students, though open to all participants. It will be held on Wednesday, May 8, at 1pm. ######################################################################## To unsubscribe from the CARIBBEAN-STUDIES list, click the following link: https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?SUBED1=CARIBBEAN-STUDIES&A=1
