Dear all, the PZG is running a meeting on perinatal animal remains, on Saturday March 16th at Historic England, Fort Cumberland, Portsmouth. We have a couple of available spaces so please get in touch with Fay or myself if you would like to attend.

The day will include talks in the morning and a workshop in the afternoon. The workshop  will involve identifying foetal and perinatal mammal remains using published criteria and some preliminary criteria that we are developing, and exchanging views on useful features. Participants are encouraged to bring reference or archaeological perinatal bones for discussion, and to increase the range of specimens. The workshop will feed into the development of a photographic atlas of perinatal medium and large size domestic and wild mammals of relevance to UK archaeology, which Historic England is developing.

There is no charge for attendance and lunch is provided but numbers are limited.

Best wishes, Poly and Fay
