Launch of the Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) Community of Practice (CoP)
10 April: 12-3pm, Room 112 Muirhead Tower, University of Birmingham campus.

In November 2018, the SEREDA research team and participants that attended the SEREDA SGBV workshop, as part of the ESRC's 2018 Festival of Social Science, reached an agreement to set up a SGBV CoP to function alongside the life of the SEREDA project and potentially beyond!
The overall purpose of the CoP is to work collaboratively with key organisations to explore ways of improving support for refugee survivors of SGBV both locally, nationally and internationally. As a starting point the shared expertise, experience and insights gained from the CoP membership will enable the following two objectives to be achieved:

1. To develop referral pathways that will enable service provides to join efforts to offer more holistic support for refugee survivors of SGBV.
2. To develop networks between professionals and strengthen relationships between academic and non-academic partners.
Members of the SEREDA CoP will meet triennially to share their expertise, ideas and recommendations for improving SGBV service delivery. The SEREDA project will launch the CoP at the first meeting to be held at the University of Birmingham on 10th April 2019, 12 - 3pm. At this event we will share findings from Phase 1 of the SEREDA project and work collectively to develop an Action Plan to take forward project recommendations.

If you are interested in becoming a member of SEREDA CoP and attending the launch please register via the Eventbrite link here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/sexual-and-gender-based-violence-sgbv-community-of-practice-launch-event-tickets-58104486082
