I saw a freelance science writing opportunity at Futurum advertised on Twitter recently and made contact with Brett. His response is below...

We’re creating a bank of reliable and skilled writers who are able to write feature-length articles (2,000) words on complex scientific subjects on an ad hoc basis. All of the materials will be supplied to you, including the researcher interview, a detailed brief and an article template for you to follow.

Your remit will be to turn technical content into an article that is suitable for a young audience, and to create an accompanying activity sheet. Please take a look at our current articles: https://futurumcareers.com/articles and activity sheets: https://futurumcareers.com/activity-sheets

To start with, we pay £90 per article and activity sheet – a fee that will be reviewed on completion of 3 articles and if you meet the standards required this fee will be increased to £150 per article and activity sheet.

If you think this is for you, please contact Karen at [log in to unmask]. She will send you a short writing test to assess your suitability.

We look forward to working with you!

Brett and Karen

Hai all,

I am a nurse postgraduate from India. I am eligible to work in the UK. Science writing is my passion. Anybody know what kind of sci-comms job roles I can start with in the UK?

Thanks,

Sandeep
