Hi Hive Mind,

UWE Science Communication Unit and Curiosity Connections Bristol are linking to Bristol Reading City, and we would like to promote books which challenge stereotypes of who scientists are, or what they do. We’re aiming at kids of all ages, from birth to 18. We know about:

-          Rosie Revere Engineer

-          Ada Twist Scientist

-          Iggy Peck Architect

-          Bedtime Stories for Rebel Girls/Boys

-          The famous women series e.g. Marie Curie

We wondered if people have other suggestions. This could include:

-          Women/girls as protagonists (i.e. doing things in a story, not being a bystander or helper)

-          Scientists not wearing white coats

-          People from other ethnicities

-          Books demonstrating curiosity, and not giving up after failure.

Please email [log in to unmask] with ideas!
