Based in Green Park, Reading, the Unified Collaboration Technology Group is an Agile software development team, working in C++, Python and Erlang, with a strong bias towards automated testing of their
products.

On offer is a 12-month internship as a participative member of a scrum team involved in the design, implementation and maintenance of product features.

The successful candidate will be working with multiple components of Cisco's market leading unified collaboration product: Cisco Expressway, our advanced collaboration gateway, the principal
product of the Green Park engineering team.
Duties and responsibilities:
As a contributor within an agile development team:
-
Design and implement new features, considering the reliability, usability, security and scale of the products.

Develop and maintain unit, regression, integration and system tests for new and existing features.

Maintain current products through troubleshooting and resolution of customer found defects.
-
Communicate across teams to disseminate new work and ideas and collaborate on solution development.
-
Participate in the continuous and iterative improvement of the product development methodology and tooling.

Knowledge of C++, C, and Python programming languages.

Flexibility to cover all aspects of product development.

SIP, HTTP, XMPP, and associated network protocols experience.

Understanding of RPC and RESTful api design.

Strong interest in event driven network programming.

Knowledge of functional programming (including Erlang/OTP).

Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing
