Colleagues:

The MA Animation Production course at AUB is one of the courses eligible for BAFTA Scholarship applications. One of the criteria for BAFTA-eligible courses is that they have been "identified by industry professionals as producing students ready to work in film, games or television in areas in which BAFTA has a focus".

The scholarships are worth up to £12k towards fees (plus mentoring and free access to BAFTA events). Applications opened on 20 March 2019 with the deadline on 28 May 2019

Please circulate this information to any students, friends and colleagues, as it might interest some of them who would otherwise not be considering doing an MA. Unfortunately, these scholarships are only open to British citizens (though there is another scheme which offers support to Chinese students: http://www.bafta.org/asia/initiatives/scholarships). There are answers to some FAQs here: http://www.bafta.org/supporting-talent/scholarships/bafta-scholarship-programme-2019-frequently-asked-questions

In order to apply for a BAFTA Scholarship, you need to have been accepted for a place on the AUB MA course. Applications can be made here: https://aub.ac.uk/courses/postgraduate/ma-animation/

The MA is very open in the sense that people can 'make a film' but can also decide to work on some other specialist practice. In the past, we have had people do character design, costume for animation, storyboarding, puppet/model-making, production management for animation....and more; we also are open to people working in 2D, CG, stop motion, or experimental forms of animation.

Any questions about the course, please contact Prof. Paul Ward, Course Leader ([log in to unmask])

thanks

Paul
