*MA Data, Culture and Society* The School of Media and Communication at University of Westminster welcomes applications to its MA programme in Data, Culture and Society for September 2019 entry. We live in an age where almost everything of what we do is connected to data. Big data and datafication - the increasing transformation of multiple aspects of everyday lives into digital data - pose great opportunities but also risks for contemporary societies. The programme is part of the School's Communication and Media Research Institute (CAMRI) which is home to around 30 researchers and 65 doctoral students. It has been a leading centre of media and communications research in the UK for almost 30 years. In the most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF 2014), 52 per cent of our research was judged to be “world-leading”, with 87 per cent of the total rated “internationally excellent”. CAMRI is noted for its strong international dimension and its focus on critical media research, with interests in the study of digital and social media, the political economy of communications, global and transnational media, media policy studies, media and activism, and media history. *Live webinar, Wednesday, 20 March, 2PM: * Interested applicants can join a live webinar to find out more about the course and ask questions.
