External Examiner - Bournemouth University

MA in Post Production Editing (MAPPE)

Bournemouth University is seeking to appoint an External Examiner for its MA in Post Production Editing from September 2019 for a period of four years.

The one year (three concurrent trimesters) programme is focused on preparing or developing candidates for professional positions in television and film post-production. We typically take around 15 students per cohort and the intake is a mixture of domestic, EU and international students. MAPPE is one of a framework of seven specialised postgraduate programmes covering film and broadcast production. Our students work in an inter-programme collaborative environment which simulates real-world production practice.

The ideal candidate for this post will have previous experience as an external examiner in postgraduate media production (although support will be provided to exceptional candidates without this prior experience) and should be currently active in educational delivery and research within the field of media production. Additional experience and knowledge of contemporary production practices and workflows is a distinct advantage.

The University provides Induction/Briefing days in November and March each year to support both new and experienced examiners.

We will require proof of your right to work in the UK prior to making the appointment.
